Nigerian Immigration Recruitment Scam

Nigeria Immigration Service has warned prospective job applicants into the service against the activities of fraudsters especially on social media who clone facebook accounts of the NIS in order to perpetuate job racketeering. Some of the other avenues used to scam are fake websites are job agents.

NIS Service Public Relations Officer, ACI Sunday James in a disclaimer notice cautioned the public to be weary of such tactics.

According to the customs image maker; “The attention of the Comptroller General of Immigration Service, CGI Muhammad Babandede MFR has been drawn to the existence of several Facebook accounts bearing his name and photograph purportedly being operated by him”.

“The said Facebook accounts interact with the public under the guise of CGI Muhammad Babandede MFR and often times, make bogus pledges to unsuspecting Facebook “friends” of “replacement/ recruitment slots” into the Nigeria Immigration Service”.

“The CGI wishes to categorically state that he neither owns nor operates a Facebook account”.
In the even that the immigration service have a vacancy, it would be published in the national dailies or on the official website of the service.

In the even there is a new form of some sort of recruitment as a result of technological advancement or upgrade, it is important that you confirm with the agency or their official Twitter account.

“In the light of the above, the CGI hereby disassociate himself from such Facebook accounts and calls on the public to disregard any as it is the handiwork of impostors/ fraudsters who may want to use it to defraud unsuspecting members of the public”.

“He also wish to inform the general public that the NIS management operates an open door policy and that anyone who wishes to access facilities or make any enquiries at the NIS can go to the nearest NIS information or better still like our Facebook page on www.facebook.com/immigration service.nigeria and follow us on our Twitter handle @nigimmigration”.
